This monument at the intersection of Willowdale Road and Zora Road, in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, is based on a tradition brought by settlers from Europe to provide a place to stop and pray during a day’s activities. During the feast of St. Mark, a procession beginning from the church would visit each cross or statue and a prayer would be said for a bountiful harvest and good weather.
