A composite-style wooden grain elevator at the siding of Petrel Junction, on the CNR Rivers Subdivision in what is now the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford, was built in 1975 by United Grain Growers to replace older elevators at Fairview and Wellwood. On 19 April 1990, it was destroyed by fire caused by an overheated bearing at the top of the elevator.
