Historic Sites of Manitoba: Olha Community Hall (Olha, Municipality of Rossburn)

A public hall in the community of Olha, in the Municipality of Rossburn, was built in 1928 on a parcel of land purchased from H. Osadec. The building is of wood frame construction with a stage at the back, painted with a scene of an “old country village”. A partial basement under the stage served as a kitchen until it was moved behind the stage. It has hosted drama performances, social functions, and dances, mostly in the fall and winter months. An entrance foyer on the front was constructed sometime after 1982.
