This monument in Oakburn in the Rural Municipality of Yellowhead, erected in 1970, commemorates pioneers of the area. Other plaques are mounted on it commemorating the arrival of specific families in the Oakburn area: Prokip and Anna Hrycak and family in May 1899 (32-19-23W), John Black in 1877 (W21-18-23W), John and Grace Menzies in 1879 and 1880 (W16-18-23W), and John and Annie Eastcott in 1885 (NE4-18-23W). Another plaque marks the centenary of the RM in 1984.
