In October 1976, when a new municipal office was constructed in the village of Miniota, in what is now the Municipality of Prairie View, the two-storey former office was converted into a community museum. Its collections include archeological and paleontological specimens and a four-room pioneer home. The museum moved into a new facility in 2003 and a brick cairn nearby, erected on 1 July 2004, commemorates past, present, and future Reeves and Councillors of the Municipality.
