Founded by George L. Langdon and W. Judson Ruth in 1909 and named a combination of their surnames, Langruth has been the hub of the surrounding farming and fishing community for over 100 years. This monument, in front of the office of the Municipality of WestLake-Gladstone in Langruth, commemorates the pioneers and citizens who built the community.
