The Kronsthal School District was established formally around December 1878 in what would several years later become the Rural Municipality of Douglas (now part of the Rural Municipality of Rhineland). The districts catchment area including the southwestern half of Township 1 Range 2 West, encompassing the area between Kronsthal and Blumenort South. It is known to have operated a classroom during the Spring Term of 1885, lead by teacher Cornelius Neufeld, however available records detail no other classroom instruction held between 1883 and the 1890s. The location of where it was located, along with any information as to what structure was utilized, are unknown. Any formal dissolution or amalgamation of the district into an adjacent school district is not yet determined. By the 1890s reference to it is discontinued, though the Kronsthal name would later see use again with other school districts.
