This monument in the Rural Municipality of Riding Mountain West commemorates Andrew Kalyniuk (1861-1930) and Anastasia Kalyniuk (1870-1945) who, as of 1900, homesteaded at SE22-20-26W and had a family of nine children: Paul Kalyniuk (1887-1950), Magda Kalyniuk (1892-1918), Francis Rose Kalyniuk (1896-1983), Agnes Kalyniuk (1902-1979), Mary Pardun Kalyniuk (1900-1918), Mahalina Lena Kalyniuk (1905-1990), Pauline Kalyniuk (1906-1908), Adam Kalyniuk (1909-1932), and Frank Kalyniuk (1912-1981).
