Historic Sites of Manitoba: Hatch House (401 Kent Street, Birtle, Municipality of Prairie View)

The Hatch House in Birtle, in the Municipality of Prairie View, was built in 1896 by master mason Charles Dunham (1864-1943) for liveryman John George Hatch (1869-1943) and his family. His wife Margaret Lindsay Henderson (1877-1970) worked as a midwife and was said to have delivered 76 babies in the informal maternity hospital.
