The Griffiths School District (referred to by some sources as Griffith) was organized formally in March 1914. A wood-frame, one-room schoolhouse was erected at this site in the Rural Municipality of Alonsa. It became part of the Glenella municipal school system in 1936. After the school closed in 1960, due to lack of enrollment, the building was sold to a local farmer. A monument at the site was erected in 1998 to commemorate the pioneers, teachers, and students of Griffiths School.
Among the teachers who worked at Griffiths School were H. R. McConnell, J. R. Johnson (1920), M. D. Grant, Anna D. Carson (1927-1928), E. Grey (1928), F. M. Westwood (1928), Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Warkton, Mr. Harnilton, Miss Mary Homen (1941-1950), Mrs. Dorothy Sellman (1950s), Mrs. Napier, Ray Zaffery, and Mr. Zapshale (1957-1959).
