A 40,000-bushel wooden grain elevator at Gilbert Plains, on the CNR Togo Subdivision in the Municipality of Gibert Plains, was built in 1946 by the United Grain Growers to replace an earlier elevator dating from 1913. A crib annex built in 1952 increased its capacity to 124,000 bushels.
