Historic Sites of Manitoba: Foxwarren War Memorial (Foxwarren, Municipality of Prairie View)

This monument in Foxwarren, in the Municipality of Prairie View, was erected in 1921 to commemorate soldiers from the local area killed during military service. Purchased from the Neepawa firm of Guinn & Simpson at a cost of $2,950, the monument was topped by a granite figure of a soldier carved in Italy. The committee responsible for the monument was led by Foxwarren Mayor Louis Armit and an unveiling ceremony was held on 11 November 1921.
