Historic Sites of Manitoba: First Sod Turning Monument (Municipality of Grandview)

A fieldstone monument in the Municipality of Grandview was erected by the municipality in 1970 to commemorate Manitoba’s centenary. It marks the site of the first breaking of sod in the municipality, in May 1890, by Joseph Leitch and William Martin.
