A stone monument at this site along the Burrows Trail in the Municipality of McCreary, erected in 2003 by the McCreary Heritage Advisory Committee, commemorates a Roman Catholic chapel that was constructed here around 1898, on land acquired by the Archdiocese of St. Boniface in 1891. Services were conducted by itinerant priests. Churches built in Laurier (1902) and McCreary (1905) drew away parishioners, resulting in the sale of the land and conversion of the chapel into a private residence.
