A 27,000-bushel wooden grain elevator at the railway siding of Edwin on the CNR Pleasant Point Subdivision, in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, was built in 1928 and operated by the Manitoba Pool Elevators. A 30,000-bushel balloon annex once stood beside it but has been removed. The elevator closed in July 1978, after the rail line from Portage la Prairie was severed by the construction of the Portage Diversion in the late 1960s. It was decided that the cost of building a bridge was not warranted by revenue from operation of the line. The elevator was used for private grain storage into the early 2000s but had since fallen into disrepair. It was demolished in June 2019.
