Built in 1927, the Doyle Cottage at Grand Marais, also called Oak Manor, is one of the best local examples of a traditional cottage that can be found in many other Manitoba summer communities. With its shallow pyramidal roof and wide verandah, the form is of an “A” type. Inside, the original log construction is apparent in the exposed beams and rafters. The entire cottage has exceptionally high integrity with period siding, flooring, wall materials, and a stone fireplace which are all intact and preserved.
