The Darwin School District was organized formally in August 1911 and a school building was erected on the northwest quarter of 2-24-9 west of the Principal Meridian in what is now the Municipality of West Interlake. The original school building was later replaced. The district was dissolved in 1967. The building is no longer present at the site, having been moved to the Ashern Museum, but a fieldstone monument commemorates it.
Among the teachers of Darwin School was Byron Neal Jones (1966-1967).
