A wooden grain elevator at Cracknell, on the CPR Russell Subdivision in what is now the Municipality of Riding Mountain West, was built in 1921 by Paterson Grain, using materials salvaged from an older elevator at Sintaluta, Saskatchewan. A new crib annex was built in 1952 and, eight years later, a new balloon annex was made using material salvaged from an elevator at Madill. It was closed in 2000 and later demolished.
