This bank building served in two mining towns, Sherridon and Lynn Lake. When Sherritt Gordon Mines Limited decided to move its operations north from Sherridon to the Town of Lynn Lake, the bank building was moved too. It housed the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce into the late 1960s and later housed a succession of businesses and later a museum complex. The building is a municipally-designated historic site.
