A 40,000-bushel elevator at Carberry was built by the Reliance Grain Company in 1938, replacing an earlier elevator half its size. Sold to Manitoba Pool Elevators in 1948, the elevator was re-sold to United Grain Growers later that year. Converted to special crops storage in 1978, its declining condition warranted demolition in April 1983. To commemorate the elevator and the grain industry in Carberry, the company constructed a fieldstone cairn at a nearby site.
