This two-storey red brick house on Second Avenue SE in Carman is one of the largest and most impressive of the community’s historic houses. Built around 1903 or earlier for early settler James Campbell, the house is of the Queen Anne style which was very popular for residential buildings in Manitoba at this time. The brick work is contrasted with huge wooden brackets, painted white against the brick. Each gable end is highlighted with intricate wooden fretwork.
