A wooden grain elevator at Benard, on the CNR Gladstone Subdivision in the Rural Municipality of Cartier, was constructed in 1948 by Manitoba Pool Elevators. An annex was added in 1966 and the entire facility was renovated in 1983. Used in later years for seeds and special crops, the elevator was closed by Pool on 1 November 1996 and demolished by Agricore in 2001.
