Memorable Manitobans: Narcisse Breton (1871-1966)

Municipal official.

Born at St-Norbert d’Arthabasca, Quebec on 8 July 1871, he came to Manitoba and served for 30 years on the council of the Rural Municipality of Montcalm, including 22 years as Reeve (1922-1943). He also served as a trustee and Secretary-Treasurer of the Inverness School Board for 42 years. He later lived in retirement at Winnipeg, dying there on 7 December 1966. He was buried in the St. Pie Roman Catholic Cemetery.
