Corporate executive.
Born on 27 September 1946, son of Skapti “Skip” Arason (1919-2011) and Edith Jean Avery (1922-2014), great-grandson of Skapti Arason, he grew up on a farm near Glenboro. After studying agricultural economics at the University of Manitoba (BScAg 1970), he worked for Manitoba Pool Elevators from 1971 to 1998, starting as a district representative, and progressing to member relations (?-1980), Corporate Secretary (1980-1985), General Manager of Services and Development (1985-1987), and Chief Executive Officer (1988-1998). He then moved to the Canadian Wheat Board as Chief Executive Officer (1998-2002, 2006-2008).
