Manitoba Organization: Homestead School District No. 1581

The Homestead School District was organized formally in August 1911 with a catchment area consisting of 1-26-29 West of the Prime Meridian in what was the Rural Municipality of Shell River (now within the Municipality of Roblin), along with Sections NE24, 25, E26, 25, and 26 of Township 25 Range 29 West and Sections 28-21 of Township 25 Range 28 West. Its establishment acquired land from Fife School, Goose Lake School, Cromarty School, and Stirling School. The district existed on its own for a mere few months, during which period available records indicate no local classroom education was had. Its catchment area was consolidated into the Goose Lake School District No. 1283 in November 1911.
