The Grain Exchange Curling Club had its beginnings in 1926 as the Grain and Allied Trades as a rental league in various clubs. The membership was primarily individuals from the grain trade. In 1928, the club took out its affiliation with the Manitoba Curling Association. For the 1928-1929 season, the club purchased the old Assiniboine Curling Club site from the Caledonian Curling Club. The rink, located at 111 Mayfair Avenue, had four sheets of ice.
In 1948, the property was sold to the Eaton Curling Club and the club moved to a new facility with six sheets at the old Main Street stadium grounds across from the CNR Station at 75 Fort Street. Artificial ice was installed for the 1954-1955 season.
The club remained at this location until it was sold in 2008 to the Friends of Upper Fort Garry that turned the site into a heritage park. The club rented ice at other clubs through the 2010-2011 season.
