Created in the early 1980s, the Historic Resources Branch of Manitoba Culture, Heritage and Tourism supported communities and individuals in their efforts to identify, protect, and celebrate their heritage. One facet of the Branch’s mandate was to produce pamphlets, reports, and inventories on noted historical personalities and sites around Manitoba.
In 2021, the Historic Resources Branch was renamed to the Community Programs and Services Branch. It reverted to its former name in April 2023.
