MHS Centennial Business: Vendome Hotel

The Vendome Hotel at 308 Fort Street was listed in the Manitoba Free Press of 1 October 1898 as a new building costing $14,000. In 1902 an enlargement was made using plans designed by Henry S. Griffith, the architect of numerous buildings in Winnipeg, including the Ryan Block and the Mitchell Building, as well as Portage la Prairie, St. Boniface and Neepawa. Doug Romanik, the owner and Ed Romanik, CEO, accepted the award.

An MHS Centennial Business Award was presented by Judith Hudson Beattie, Ken Zealand and David Deane in May 2004.
