Founded in 1925 by the Manitoba Wheat Pool (predecessor of Manitoba Pool Elevators) as a monthly magazine called The Scoop Shovel, it became the Manitoba Co-operator in September 1931. It ceased publication at the end of 1936 then was re-organized in July 1943. This now-weekly newspaper focuses on agricultural news relevant to farmers in Manitoba.
