The conditions imposed upon Germany after WW1 help trigger an economic collapse and political turmoil that results leads to the rise of Adolph Hitler and his Nazi Party.

1927: Charles Lindberg flies solo from New York to Paris.


Canada

Post-War adjustments are difficult. The “Roaring Twenties” though fondly remembered most correctly apply to the latter part of the decade.




Manitoba

1920: The Manitoba Grain Growers’ Association becomes “The United Farmers of Manitoba.” It turned its attention to progressive farm legislation


The Wawanesa Area

1921

Cenotaph unveiled by Hon. George Dinsdale.
Sunshine Highway inaugurated.

1922

I.O.O.F. hall re-built following destruction by fire.

1924

C.N.R. train bridge collapses — one person killed.

1925

Fire brigade is formed — chief was Hamilton Bell.

1927

Bus service to Brandon established by Charlie King.

1929

Present Royal Bank building is built at 147-4th Street.
Hydro service comes to Wawanesa Village.

David Thompson cairn unveiled by Dr. Stewart of Ninette.

Wawanesa's third rink built at corner of 4lh and Park.
