The Electric Guitar  ...and its role in the Birth and Evolution of Rock n’ Roll  About this project.... This project started when I was asked to do a presentation at a School Division Career Day. The concept was that to understand Careers one should understand the business. My planning for that presentation got the ball rolling and this is the result...  I'm a guitar player with extensive experience playing in semi-professional bands. Over the years I have immersed myself in a wide variety of musical styles, but my first and enduring love is rock n’ roll – in all its varieties from the 50’s to the current day. Of particular interest is the role that the guitar has played in the evolution of popular music. For most musicians, playing an instrument is a part-time thing - more of an avocation than a career. My “real” occupation for most of my adult life has been teaching Middle Years & High School. Now retired from teaching, I do some consulting, research and writing relating to Heritage Sites and Local History… and have more spare time to play my guitars. Ken Storie - 2023 |
