Alma School District was established in July 1891, although classes had begun the previous year. The name of the district was apparently selected by a student in the first class. A wood frame schoolhouse built at SE34-4-15W was used until 1905 when it was replaced by a one room brick structure, complete with full basement and oil-fueled furnace. The school closed in January 1961

Bellafield School No. 468







The school closed in 1967. The school building and teacherage were moved to Ninette, with the former becoming part of the community centre and the latter part of the seniors centre. A fieldstone cairn was unveiled in 1982 on the grounds.

Buttrum School No. 679



The Buttrum School District was organized in 1891 and a school operated on the southeast quarter of 1-5-18. In 1964, it became Buttrum Consolidated School when it consolidated with Bethel School No. 301 and Rowland School No. 470, based in a two-classroom building teaching grades 1 to 8 at a site about five miles south of the site od a cairn. This school closed in 1965.

Clifton Bank School No. 777



The Clifton Bank School District was established in 1884 and a one-room schoolhouse operated on the northeast corner of NE 16-6-15. The original building was destroyed by fire on Arbor Day in 1919. A replacement was constructed two years later at NE 21-6-15W. It closed in 1946.

Craigilea School No. 441 / Belmont Consolidated School No. 441





Craigilea School District was established in February 1886. The building was moved to Belmont after the town was created and it continued with this name until July 1917 when it became Belmont Consolidated School.

A new K-12 School was opened in 1904 and operated until 1968. An elementary school was built 1960 and closed in 2002.

Delta School was built in 1893 on 12,5,16. It closed in August 1917. A monument, erected in 1980, commemorates the school and community of Delta.

Huntly School District was established in 1886 and a school building was later erected in the southwest corner of 11-4-15. In 1907, a new building was erected on the north side of the road opposite the original site. It was replaced with another structure in 1958. The school closed in June 1968 and the building was moved to Killarney for use as a church. A monument and replica commemorates it at the former site.

The Ninette School District was organized in 1899 and, for a time, students attended classes above a general store in Ninette. In 1901, a one-storey, one-classroom school building was erected but, around 1912, a second storey (and second classroom) was added, accessible via an exterior staircase that doubled as a fire escape.

The St. Felix School District was established in 1894 and a school building was erected on NW 24-5-18. In 1929, a larger and more modern frame building was built on the same location. The school closed in 1951. A stone commemorative monument was installed 1996.

Stockdale School No. 1086





The Stockdale School District was established in 1900. A one-room wood frame schoolhouse was built on SE-33-4-17.  When the district was dissolved in 1964, its catchment area was distributed between Buttrum School District, Dunrea School District, and Bellafield School District. In 2001, a monument was erected about one-half mile west of the former school site.
