There are two types reseacrh one might undertake.
Type A:
Specific Questions
In this case your are trying to track down some specific information
about a known family member. You might know some details, full names
perhaps , where the person lived etc. What you want are some more
specific details about that person.

In Manitoba's early days getting one's name in the local
newspaper was quite readily done. Some Winnipeg papers made it a

General Research
Writing a Family History requires a different approach. Essentially its
more open-ended. In this case
you might know some details about some people but want to expand that

Located in Knox United
Church, 18th Street & Victoria Ave in Brandon, MB (entrance is via
the east side of the building). Here, the books, newsletters, cemetery
records, newspaper abstracts and other materials which pertain to the
area served are available to members and others. The library is open on
Monday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. (statutory holidays excepted);
other times by appointment. Please call Vivian
