The Bob Dandy Barn
Another example of labour saving devices & innovation can be seen
in this large barn, even though it is somewhat the worse for wear.
The barn is set up so that the hay is stored in a central compartment
with stalls arranged along the outside – the hay can be pushed right in
to
the mangers.
Long before the “Modern” Corporate farm, mechanized, “efficient”
systems were in place on many farms. Note the framework for the sling
used to shift hay into the loft.
