The
Reverend Hy. Lewis
The
Lewis family arrived in Killarney about July 1st, 1891. The
Reverend Hy. Lewis came from Newfoundland, to be Pastor of the
Methodist Church. There were six children; born at Killarney were
two more sons, Charlie and Llewellyn. We children loved the
lake. Mother thought no one would grow flowers with the beauty of
the wild ones. Father drove many hundred miles with Old Flirt,
white mare, winter in the bitter cold weather; summer with the heat and
beauty of the prairie. Three years at Killarney were outstanding
in the life of the Lewis family.
