Claims: Mb. 1880. Carberry 1888, est. men’s clothing store. Farmed.
Bought Haslam’s Clothing & Furnishing in 1899. 1901 – manager of
Sandford Manufacturing Co. 1911 – opened a general store with
son-in-law Benjamin Caldwell. 1914 – Postmaster.

Jones, Elias
Biography:
Claims: With David Kerr established the Carberry Stacker Co.
Invented and produced the Carberry Blower (the Jones Stacker). Dave
Kerr, with Elias Jones produced the “Jones Stacker & Blower” which
was “famous throughout the prairies”. It was built in Dave Kerr’s
Toronto Street Shop at turn of century.

Kerr, David
Biography: Born 1855 in Omenee ON.
Claims: Arrived in Carberry in 1880. Carriage maker. With E.
Jones established the Carberry Stacker Co. Invented and produced the
Carberry Blower (the Jones Stacker). Dave Kerr, with Elias Jones
produced the “Jones Stacker & Blower” which was “famous throughout

White, James
Biography: Born Ontario 1861. Married Margaret Cooper. Died Sept.
26, 1941
Claims: Came to Carberry in 1902. He was a businessman, inventor,
and contractor. His business interests included the Sash and Door
Factory, Planing Mill, Hardware Store, Carriage Works, Paint Shop,
Foundry and a Blacksmith Shop. He is responsible for some notable brick
churches and many fine homes in the town.
