Born on 12 May 1934, he was a New Democratic candidate in the 1965 federal general election. As a Progressive Conservative, he was elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly at the 1977 general election. He served as Minister of Northern Affairs (1977-1979), Minister of Renewable Resources and Transportation (1977-1978), and Minister of Labour and Manpower (1978-1981). He was defeated at the 1981 general election.
