Historian.
He completed his PhD in 2004 at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He was later a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Manitoba, interested in the history of citizenship and nationalism in Canada. He is presently (2020) a Professor of History at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
