Historian.

Laura Beach is a PhD Candidate and Course Instructor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto. Their doctoral research focuses on relations of care within prisons in Saskatchewan, where rates of Indigenous incarceration are among the highest in Canada. Mx. Beach situates caring relations between and among prisoners and staff within a larger analysis of the corrections industry as a key mechanism of ongoing colonization.
