The Valour Road Legion Curling Club was formed in 1948, with five sheets of ice located at 280 Burnell Street just north of Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. In 1958, it was renamed the Valour Road Curling Club. Over the years, as the popularity of curling in that area declined, it ran into financial difficulty and resorted to private ownership. In 2006, it was sold to the Thistle Curling Club who took over the building and the Valour Road Curling Club was dissolved.
The Valour Road Curling Club was home to Lloyd Gunnlaugson who won three consecutive Canadian Senior Men's Curling Championships from 1982 to 1984.
