The nine-hole golf course of the St. Boniface Golf Club, at 100 Youville Street in St. Boniface, was established in 1931. The property is owned by the City of Winnipeg and the club has had numerous leases over the years. The course has tree lined fairways and uses the contours of the Seine River that runs through the property.

There were periodic attempts to add a second nine holes but it was not until 1937 that the City approved the project. The project was finally completed and opened for play in August 1941. However, with the onset of the Second World War, the back nine was taken out of play and not reopened until the spring of 1946.
