This Winnipeg-based company was incorporated federally under the Companies Act on 17 July 1908 with executives Walter Donald Douglas, George Frank Piper, and Ellsworth C. Warner of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Robert Stuart of Chicago, Illinois; and William Henry McWilliams.

In 1929, it look over the lumberyards formerly belonging to Theodore Arthur Burrows.
