Manitoba Business: Canadian Investor Company

The Canadian Investor Company (CIC) Limited was assembled on 23 April 1906 and formally established on 11 May 1906 via Letters Patent under The Manitoba Joint Stock Companies Act. Its founding signatories were Winnipeg residents Herbert S. Pringle (journalist), John Orval Dunford (accountant), Clarence Garfield Keith (bookkeeper), and Daniel E. MacLean (accountant), along with Robert Edgar Denney (real estate broker) of Melita, with all partners save for MacLean serving as its initial directors.

It had a capital stock of $20,000 and began operations at Winnipeg where they began issuing a monthly journal publication on farm lands, loans, insurance, stocks, city property, bonds, and investments. Pringle served as manager and editor of the publication and, by June 1906, they had set up offices at 736 Sherbrook Street at what became the Investor Block.

The company's charter was cancelled on 25 September 1913.
