Originally from the Netherlands, I immigrated to Canada in 2001. With an educational background in tourism, I started working for Dauphin Economic Development & Tourism in 2007 and later moved to Community Futures Parkland as the Executive Director. As an advocate for development in the region, I worked with many boards, including museum boards. I am the past chair of Assiniboine College Board of Governors, Parkland Regional Development Corporation and Habitat for Humanity Dauphin. My last position was as a municipal development consultant for the Province of Manitoba working with rural, northern communities and not-for-profit organizations. I recently moved back to my old ‘stomping grounds’ as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Dauphin.
I have a great sense of belonging for my community and the rural way of life. I have been involved as a volunteer with many projects. I have a passion for art and theatre, and I am a member of the local theatre groups, Theatre Amisk and Second Story Productions. In the summer times you find me driving around my 1984 VW Camper ‘Juliette’ and we love going outdoors and camping.
