Nadia Thompson

Nadia ThompsonNadia is dedicated to the promotion of Black Culture and History throughout Winnipeg. She joined the Black History Month Celebration Committee in 2009 helping organize various events throughout the city. She continues to work with multiple organizations to promote diversity and culture in Winnipeg, connecting with various community groups to build a better connection in our city. Nadia has been the chairperson for the BHMCC for several years and put so much heart into this role. She has been the face of Black History Month celebrations by attending events all over the city and country. She has been interviewed on Breakfast Television, CBC Radio, Global News, CJOB to name a few; and continues to expose the city to the vast array of information available throughout Winnipeg about black history and black culture.

Her impact on her city has been evident. If you don’t know her name you know the face because she is everywhere. She is proud of her heritage and her background. She truly cares about who people are and what mark we leave on this world.
