Educator, historian.
He obtained his PhD in Latin American history from El Colegio de México, Mexico City, in 1990. His areas of interest deal with the US-Mexico border region, Canadian northern development, mining and transportation history. Among his recent publications are “The Bennett Government’s Pacific Northern Railway Project and the Development of British Columbia’s “Hinterland”” (BC Studies, No. 175, Autumn 2012) and “The Monorail Revolution of the 1950s and 1960s and its Legacy” (The Journal of Transport History, vol. 37, no. 2, 2016). He is currently at work on a history of monorail development in North America.
