Historian.
She is the Chair of Métis Research and an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Ottawa and the author of One of the Family: Metis Culture in Nineteenth Century Northwestern Saskatchewan. Along with Nicole St-Onge and Carolyn Podruchny, she is Co-Editor and contributor of Contours of a People: Metis Family, Mobility and History (2012).
