The Henboden School District was formally petitioned for in November 1887 by local residents of the Rural Municpalities of Hespeler and Hanover which sought the establishment of a Protestant school under the Board of Education, with some 19 school-age children within a proposed catchment area. As defined, the district's area was to include Sections 1-3, 10-15, and 22-24, and the south halves of Sections 25-27 in Township 7 Range 4 East of the Prime Meridian, along with Sections 5-8 and 17-20, along with the south halves of Sections 29-30 of Township 7 Range 5 East. Via the petition, a proposed schoolhouse site was suggested at Southeast 12-7-4E.
Available information suggest the district never operated its own classroom nor built a schoolhouse, with Board of Education / Department of Education records indicating no grant money was paid to the district for teachers salaries. Recurring mentions of the district in official sources ended by 1905.
