Manitoba Organization: Bruxelles Brass Band

A musical band was established on 11 May 1899 in the village of Bruxelles in the Rural Municipality of Lorne by brothers Gustave and Emile Hutlet. It was dissolved in 1974, having involved over 102 musicians to that point, and was resurrected in 1991 for Bruxelles’ centenary in 1992 and the band’s centenary in 1999. A few years later, the Band was featured on the CBC television program “On The Road Again” with Wayne Rostad.
